A Lifestyle of Freedom

Melaleuca's Crescenzo family

Twenty years ago, Phil and Jan Crescenzo were strapped for time and money. But today, they’re enjoying a lifestyle of freedom thanks to a rewarding Melaleuca business and sharing that rewarding lifestyle with those they love.

When Phil and Jan Crescenzo received word they’d advanced to Executive Director VIII, they were vacationing in Charleston, S.C., with their two daughters and four of their grandchildren. A month earlier, they’d visited Walt Disney World® with all of their grandchildren and even a few members of their Melaleuca business team. For the Crescenzos, it’s a stark contrast to the lifestyle they had two decades ago before they’d ever heard of Melaleuca.

“Back then, we owned and operated a large commercial sign company,” Phil says. “Since my name was prominently displayed on the front of our building, I liked to think I was running my company, but in reality, it was running me—right into the ground. I would long for major holidays and weekends just so things would slow down a little and the phone would stop ringing.”

Then The Wellness Company came into the Crescenzos’ lives, and everything changed. Less than a year after their enrollment, Phil and Jan achieved Executive Director, and their Melaleuca income exceeded $100,000.

“Now, every day feels like a holiday,” Phil says. “I’m not minimizing what it takes to build a Melaleuca business when I say that. But when you compare it to what it takes to operate most businesses, we absolutely have it made.”

The biggest difference, Phil says, is that Melaleuca allows his family to earn real residual income.

“The only residual I’ve earned from my sign company is being able to drive through town and point out all of the logos, store fronts and signs we designed—there was no residual income in that business,” Phil says. “With Melaleuca, on the other hand, we’ve maintained a six-figure annual income for our entire career. It has allowed us to secure an unbelievable future, and we know our check will continue to come every month.”

Last month, the Crescenzos’ Melaleuca check reached $47,775. Their business team now includes Phil’s brother, Executive Director V Dave Crescenzo, and Dave’s wife, Lynn; Phil and Jan’s son and daughter-in-law, Executive Directors IV Christian and Shannon Crescenzo; and their son and daughter-in-law, Executive Directors Phil and Leigh Crescenzo.

“The day we received our advancement call just happened to be our 20th anniversary with Melaleuca,” Phil says. “So, when we got that call, we couldn’t help but think about how Melaleuca has enhanced our lives. We’re at a great time in Melaleuca’s history, and we feel that we’re also at a great time in our lives. We get to build our business every day with people we love and enjoy.

“That residual income isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” Phil teases. “It’s much, much better.”
